About me
I learned the power of a good story at a young age, and spent many hours getting lost in the worlds other people created. Books have been an important part of my life for as long as I can remember, and my love of literature and language has developed and matured over the intervening years. When a time came in my career that I was able to choose a new direction, an entry into the world of publishing and the opportunity to deepen my knowledge of the crafting and publication of books proved quite compelling.

About the business
I started my first training course in proofreading in 2015, with Chapterhouse, and on completion in 2016 I established a presence on Upwork, a platform that connects freelancers and clients. I also became an entry-level member of what was then the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP), now the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP).
In the last nine years I have completed numerous training courses in proofreading, copyediting and related skills, and amassed experience in working with a wide range of texts, including academic books and articles, web content, non-fiction books (particularly in the genre of theology/religion), memoirs and novels. In 2024 I was awarded professional membership of the CIEP in recognition of my training and experience.
